Current production systems are often linear from extracting raw materials, to production to the end sale to customers. This linear model restricts integration of reused parts, recycled materials, and a circular flow of consumption. New production systems should support a circular mindset that brings used products, packaging and materials into a closed loop system where all components are re-used into different components and production loops. In addition, there is a great value in re-thinking business models aiming at integrating new services and systems as for example renting and re-selling.
